A man wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant in connection to a 2013 New Year’s Eve shooting in the southeast community of Acadia has been located.

Chayce Anthony Krause, 21, was arrested in the city's southeast on Tuesday, August 30 and is in police custody.

On December 31, 2013, emergency crews responded to a home in the 400 block of Athlone Road S.E. after a 33-year-old man was shot in the stomach. Police believe the shooting followed a disagreement as the alleged gunman and victim had communicated via text message prior to the incident.

Following an investigation lasting over a week, police identified and arrested Chayce Anthony Krause as the suspected shooter. Krause was charged with attempted murder.

Krause was released from custody and place under house arrest with additional, undisclosed conditions.

On Friday, August 26, 2016, Krause left his approved residence. He has not been heard from since.

Krause is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 170 cm (5’7”) tall
  • Having a slim build
  • Having brown hair and brown eyes

Police suspect Krause has left Calgary but have not determined his direction of travel.
