Police have arrested and charged a man, saying he attacked a woman on Wednesday afternoon in Prince’s Island Park, leaving her with serious facial injuries.
Late Wednesday afternoon, a passerby found the woman in medical distress in the urban park north of the downtown core.
Emergency crews attended the scene and the woman was taken to hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Police tracked the suspect, finding him at the Drop-In Centre.
They have not released his identity, but say he is known to them and has several outstanding warrants.
