Police have made an arrest in a groping incident where a man attacked a woman in northwest Calgary this summer.

At about 5 a.m. on Aug. 2, a woman was approached by a man in a parking lot in the 8000 block of Beddington Blvd. N.W.

The man came towards her while making rude comments.

He followed the victim, grabbed her, then dropped his pants, and continued with the rude comments.

She then fled the scene and entered a nearby building where she contacted police.

Police arrested Chase Daniel Collier, 21, of Calgary, on Nov. 1 following extensive investigation.

Collier has been charged with sexual assault and committing an indecent act in a public place.

He is expected in court on Dec. 14.
