Police in Three Hills are investigating after a man allegedly broke into the dormitories at a bible college and sexually assaulted several students.

A man gained entry to the student residences of the Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills in the early morning hours of August 17, 2014.

Once inside, the suspect allegedly assaulted several students in their rooms before fleeing the building and riding away on a bicycle.

None of the victims were physically injured during the incident.

"It's a little alarming but I think we all felt like everyone handled the situation really well so I felt safe and then they set up better security the night after," said student, Carly Reirson.

"It was a little bit shocking, I didn't really expect this to happen," said student, Glynna MacKenzie.

An image captured from security footage was released by police on Monday morning and a man fitting the description of the suspect turned himself in to RCMP in the afternoon.

The school says it is stepping up security.

"One of those is to add to the routine of securing buildings in the evening is, to walk the main floor of the dorm and check that all the windows are closed and secured," said Mark Maxwell from the Prairie Bible Institute.

Police are still investigating and so far there is no word on charges.
