Police believe alcohol may have contributed to an afternoon collision that severely injured an innocent man.
The crash occurred at the intersection of 52 St. and Madigan Dr. N.E. just before 2:30 Saturday afternoon when a Volkswagen Jetta was t-boned by an oncoming SUV.
Both vehicles suffered severe damage in the crash. Fire crews extricated the male driver of the Jetta from the wreckage using hydraulic tools.
The Jetta driver was transported to hospital by EMS in life threatening condition.
The female driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and received medical treatment at the crash scene.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
