RCMP say a man is presumed dead after he didn't return from an ice fishing trip near Nanton.
The 74-year-old, from Calgary, left his home early Wednesday morning for a day of ice fishing.
When he didn't return home, family members searched for him. His vehicle was found near the Chain Lakes Campground.
RCMP also helped search and they found footprints and sled marks leading onto the lake and ending at an open hole in the ice. Police presume the man fell through the ice and died.
The Calgary Fire Department was called in to help with the recovery. On Thursday afternoon, the body was pulled from the lake and taken to the medical examiner's officer in Calgary.
