Calgary’s Arts and Crafts community is celebrating the news that a popular independent market will continue through the holiday season.

The Market Collective, a gathering of local artists, artisans and musicians, had, until recently, been held at the Anthill building in Kensington along 10 St. N.W.

The market was planning to host three weekend sales in December until a decision by the Kensington BRZ restricted the collective to just one weekend sale.  The BRZ felt the collective was taking customers away from the permanent local businesses.

The Collective’s new venue is at 1720 Raddison Dr. S.E. near International Avenue (17 Ave), in a former vehicle dealership.  The market will be open on the weekends of December 1 & 2, December 8 & 9, and December 15 & 16.
