Despite the frigid conditions, the tents continue to occupy Olympic Plaza in downtown Calgary.

The plummeting temperatures have prompted some of the Occupy Calgary demonstrators to demand that the city provide electricity for the makeshift camp.

The City of Calgary's Director of Animal and By-law Services, Bill Bruce, says supplying electricity is not on the city's agenda.

According to Bruce, supplying electricity would not be a simple task because it would involve the issuing of permits, meeting safety protocols, fire safety, ground faults and load capacity.
