Calgary police believe they have located the body of an elderly woman who wandered away from family while at the Dalhousie Safeway on the weekend.
Elsie Menzies, 86, suffers from dementia and went missing at about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police say a passerby called them at about 7:00 a.m. Monday to say they had found a body in a green space in the 7000 block of Silverview Drive N.W.
They have not officially identified her but say all indications are that the body is that of Menzies.
Investigators say they believe she walked to the spot where she was found.
Police say her death is a tragic incident and there is nothing to indicate anything suspicious.
