The smoky haze in Calgary didn’t stop people from participating in the Rana Calgary’s Diversity Run.

This is the first year for the event that took place in Edworthy Park on Saturday which included a two or five kilometre run.

It also encourages young people to become more aware of what’s going on around them. “We want the youth to see what they could do in the community that even if they do a little thing it’ll make a big impact,” says organizer Swasti Lodha.

Money raised during the run will benefit the brain health program at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.
