The Calgary Board of Education has been informed that they’ll be getting some help from the province in dealing with their classroom crunch.

On Tuesday, the province announced that they would be supplying the board with 19 modular classrooms to be divided amongst Calgary schools.

The list of schools getting portables is as follows:

  • 2 modular classrooms for Cranston School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Evergreen School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Louis Riel School (CBE request was for 6)
  • 2 modular classrooms for Coventry Hills School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Radisson Park School
  • 1 modular classroom for MidSun School (CBE request was for 2)
  • 2 modular classrooms for William Reid School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Citadel School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Glamorgan School
  • 2 modular classrooms for Le Roi Daniels School

Last year, the CBE requested 28 classrooms for 11 schools in need.

The board says that it will still need more modular classrooms to accommodate for the city’s booming student population.
