Police have been called in to investigate after hikers found what appear to be human remains in an area near the Spray Lakes Reservoir.
Police say the hikers found what looked like a human jaw bone and other bone fragments at about 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Officials are conducting a search of the area and will hand over the remains to the Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office next week.
Police say it is too early to determine if the death is criminal in nature.
