Firefighters were called out to a large house fire in the community of Lake Bonavista Wednesday about noon.
One house in the southeast neighbourhood is badly damaged, two others were also affected.
The fire started in the garage and people heard several loud bangs as propane and welding tanks exploded.
No one was hurt. All the people in the home got out safely on their own.
Police had roads in the area blocked off for several hours.
The fire department has not determined what caused the fire.
