Calgary police say they have arrested one man following a peaceful end to a standoff at a home in the southeast community of Fairview.

Officials say the incident began as a domestic dispute between two brothers.

At about 4 p.m., the two men got into an argument, with one threatening to stab the other.

Police were called to the scene and found the offender was refusing to cooperate or come out of the home.

The area was blocked off and additional units were called, including crisis negotiators.

Around five hours later, the man surrendered peacefully.

There is no word on charges at this time.
