Calgary police closed a section of Arbour Lake to pedestrian and vehicle traffic as officers investigate a fatal shooting in the northwest community.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to a home on Arbour Lake Drive following reports of a shooting.
Arbour Lake Drive was closed between Arbour Lake Way and Arbour Crest Drive.
Mike Dilelo's family lives on the street. He investigated the unusual popping sound and discovered a body in the street in a pool of blood.
Dilelo blocked traffic with his vehicle while his wife and several neighbours attended to the injured man.
Police confirm the shooting victim has succumbed to his injuries.
Neighbours says the gunshot victim is an Asian man, believed to be in his mid-thirties, who, along with his wife, has lived in the neighbourhood for years.
The identity of the deceased has not been released.
