A mountain biker had to be rescued off of Moose Mountain Monday.

A helicopter was sent in to airlift the cyclist who had crashed his bike in Kananaskis Country.

He was taken to an awaiting ambulance.

The cyclist was attached with a harness to one of the rescue crew who was himself attached to a long cable coming down from the helicopter.

The two were take to an ambulance waiting on a road, where the rescuer and the injured man were gently lowered to the ground.

The cyclist suffered a broken collarbone.

Rescue crews were kept busy all weekend with a number of lost or overdue hikers and traumatic injury calls.
