This is the 32nd National Day of Mourning and comes on the heels of two Alberta workers being killed on the job.

A man was struck by a piece of equipment while working on a crane at Nova Chemicals in Joffre on Wednesday morning. A few hours later, another man was killed after an incident at a Pembina Pipeline operated site in Redwater.

Every April 28th, thousands of people across the country remember those who have been injured or lost their lives in work related incidents. In Calgary, a wreath laying ceremony took place at the City of Calgary Workers Memorial in Edward Place Park at the southeast corner of City Hall.

Last year, 125 men and women were killed on the job in Alberta. In 2014, there were 919 workplace related deaths across the country.
