There is still no new agreed deal for WestJet employees, officials for the Calgary-based airline said on Monday.

WestJet says that while turnout for the vote among the airline's 2,600 flight attendants was around 90 percent, 57 percent of those voted against the tentative agreement.

Officials say they were disappointed with the results. “We believe we brought forward an agreement that balanced the needs of our flight attendants with those of the business. I have no doubt that we will come together to resolve the issues that led to these results,” said Tyson Matheson, WestJet VP, Inflight, in a release.

The company says the WestJet leadership team and the Flight Attendant Association Board will be meeting in the coming weeks to spend extra time on concerns.

The current agreement for the company’s flight attendants remains in place.
