Calgary police are looking into the circumstances that led to a man being dropped off at a local hospital after he was seriously assaulted.

Police say a man was dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Sunday at about 2:00 p.m. by two unidentified women.

The victim received severe head and facial injuries and is listed in critical condition.

Police are looking into the incident and have released photos of two women who they believe may have information about the assault.

They were seen driving a white, newer model Chrysler convertible with a black soft-top.

The first woman is described as:

  • Light-skinned
  • Long blond hair
  • Slim build
  • Was wearing a black off-the-shoulder T-shirt, ripped black leggings, a skirt and dangling suspenders

The second woman is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • Long black hair
  • Medium build
  • Was wearing white sunglasses, a white and black patterned sundress and cowboy boots
