Surveillance cameras captured a man starting a fire in the foyer of the Okotoks Bull Pen Pub & Eatery earlier this month. Now, RCMP members are asking for help from the public in identifying the culprit.

On Friday, May 8, 2015, members of the Okotoks RCMP detachment and the Okotoks Fire Department responded to the business on 35 Riverside Drive following reports of a fire. The fire was extinguished but damage to the building and neighbouring properties was extensive.

As a result of the fire damage, four businesses in downtown Okotoks have been displaced.

The arson suspect is described as:

  • A Caucasian male
  • Weighing approximately 80-90 kgs

At the time of the fire, the suspect was wearing black jogging pants, a blue winter jacket, and black gloves.

RCMP have released surveillance stills of the arson suspect. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Okotoks RCMP detachment, 403-938-7046, or Crime Stoppers
