The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is warning consumers not to eat a certain type of sausage sold at a deli in southeast Calgary due to reports that it has been tainted with listeria.

On Monday, the CFIA says that polish dried sausage sold at Old Fashioned Meat and Deli Ltd., located at 532 Cleveland Crescent S.E., is being recalled due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Consumers are being warned not to consume the product, sold in various sizes between June 10 and June 24, 2015.

They are being advised to throw out the product or return it to the store.

Anyone who is unsure whether or not their product has been contaminated should contact Old Fashioned Meat and Deli Ltd.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Symptoms of listeria poisoning include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness.

Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
