Calgary’s 103-year-old City Hall is beginning to show its age as pieces of its sandstone exterior have fallen to the sidewalk.

Crews have erected scaffolding and meshing to stop any further debris from falling from the building which was deemed a National Historic Site in 1984.

Old City Hall, which was completed in 1911, houses the offices of Mayor Nenshi, councillors and city clerks and has been refurbished numerous times.

The cause of the exterior damage and the estimated cost of repairs have not been confirmed.
