It’s been nearly three weeks since the big summer snowstorm.

Many parts of the city are still littered with fallen branches, but crews are making progress in the Calgary tree clean up.

City crews and private contractors have been working seven days a weeks to clear away the debris.

So far more than 70 communities have been cleared.

More than 18-thousand loads of wood have been taken to landfills to be mulched.

It’s expected that the clean up will take until mid-November.

City landfills have been open longer since the storm on September 10 but as of October 6 the landfills will resume regular hours.

Calgarians can continue to drop off tree debris for free at city landfills.
