An issue at Shell Canada’s Scotford refinery near Edmonton has crippled production and hurt supply at the gas company’s service stations throughout Alberta.

According to Cameron Yost, a spokesperson for Shell Canada, the company is doing everything it can to replenish the gas supply at its Alberta stations.

“Right now, we're looking to find additional sources of gasoline to ensure that we're able to get the product to our stations,” explains Yost.

The undisclosed issue at the Scotford refinery has not been resolved. Officials have not released a timeframe for a return to regular operations.
