An early Sunday morning rollover in the town of Stettler has claimed one young man and sent two others to hospital.

Shortly after midnight, RCMP responded to the rollover on Highway 12 within the town's borders. The driver of the truck, a 20-year-old man from Stettler, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers of the truck, two 18-year-old men both from Stettler, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries in the rollover. One of the men was airlifted by STARS Air Ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton while the other was transported by ground ambulance to the Stettler hospital.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash but have not ruled out speed as a contributing factor.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.
