Calgary police are investigating a Saturday evening shooting in the northeast which sent one man to hospital for treatment of a serious gunshot wound to his torso.

Shortly after 8:00 p.m., emergency crews responded to a strip mall in the 5300 block of Rundlehorn Dr. N.E. following reports of gunshots. An injured man was located and transported to hospital by ambulance in serious, potentially life threatening condition.

Several bullets struck the exterior of the building.A section of 52 St. N.E., between 16 Ave. and 23 Ave., was closed for several hours following the incident.

Police have not released details pertaining to potential suspect or suspects, or a suspected motive in the attack.
