RCMP in Cardston has issued a warning about a high risk offender who failed to turn up for a court date and say he is capable of causing significant harm to the health and safety of the public.

Police say Keegan Spearchief, 29, was released on a peace bound with conditions after serving a 2 year, 10 month and 15 day sentence on several assault charges.

Spearchief was released from the Grand Cache Institution on January 17th and was being monitored by police while living on the Blood Tribe Reserve.

Police say he failed to attend court for a scheduled sentencing and that he is known to visit the Calgary area.

Spearchief is described as:

  • Aboriginal male
  • 198cm or 78 inches tall
  • Weighs 86 kg or 189.2 lbs
  • Brown eyes and brown hair

He was convicted for numerous serious offences, including break and enter and sexual assault with a weapon, back in 2004.

Police say they are releasing the warning in the public’s interest and say Spearchief could cause harm to the health and safety of the public, particularly adult females.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Spearchief is asked to contact their local police service.
