The Calgary Police Service Sex Crimes Unit is looking for two men who are believed to have sexually assaulted a woman in the Coral Springs neighbourhood in northeast Calgary Monday morning.

Hours after the attack she found help at a local convenience store.

The woman claims after the assault she needed help and she tried to flag down two drivers going by, but both drivers ignored her.

Staff Sgt. Bev Voros says "it's possible they (the drivers) may not have seen her.  In her mind, they saw her and drove on.  From the motorists' perspective they may have seen something, not even seen her, it was dark, it was the middle of the night, they may not have seen her."

Monday morning around 8 a.m. a woman walked into a convenience store on Coral Springs Boulevard N.E. and asked staff to call 911.

Police says the woman says she was sexually assaulted by two men while she walking home in the Coral Spring area several hours prior to the 911 call, probably around 2 or 3 a.m.

The police don’t know exactly where the assault happened or what actually happened between the time of the assault and the time the woman showed up at the store asking for help.

The woman is in hospital with a broken arm and she may have suffered a head injury.

The victim told officers she was walking in an alleyway when she was approached by two men.

One of the men hit her in the face and then she says he sexually assaulted her.

The investigators are hoping the two drivers, as well as anyone who may have information to contact police at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers.
