A woman is in hospital in life-threatening condition after she crashed her motorcycle in southwest Calgary on Wednesday night.

At about 10:40, emergency crews were called to the crash at the intersection of 14 Street and 10 Avenue S.W.

They found the woman, 36,  who was not conscious or breathing.

She was suffering from multiple fractures and serious head and neck trauma.

EMS rushed her to hospital.

Police say the woman ran a red light, crashing into the side of a minivan.

The Traffic Unit is investigating, but believe that neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the crash.

The occupants of the minivan were not injured.
