Several people have been taken into custody after the body of a teenaged boy was found just north of Morley on Monday.

The investigation began on Saturday, December 3, when police were called to a home on San Diego Way N.E. in Monterey Park by someone who had heard a loud noise and was concerned for the residents.

Officers found nothing and left, but received information on Sunday about a possible homicide at the home. An investigation led them to a second home on Dover Tree Place S.E. where four men were taken into custody and two vehicles were seized.

On Monday, officers located the body of a 17-year-old male in a remote area north of Morley. No name has yet been released but next-of-kin have been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

As well as the body, investigators found a fifth person believed to be connected to the investigation.

Charges are pending against three of the people who have been detained, but names have not yet been released.

Police are asking for public assistance in finding a sixth person who is believed to be a witness in the case.
