The town of Nanton, south of Calgary, is asking residents to conserve water.

The town is having trouble with its waste-water treatment plant and it’s trying to reduce reliance on the plant while it is repaired.

Residents are asked to reduce water consumption.

The suggestions on the town’s website include:

1. Take quick showers and avoid baths
2. Do not leave your taps running during activities such as dishwashing.
3. Do full loads of laundry
4. Do not flush unnecessary solids such as food waste and/or sanitary products
