Moving a house in the country is one thing, but it's much more complicated in the city. Residents of Park Hill and Stanley Park woke up Wednesday to see a home in the middle of 1A St.
The home is only 15 years old and the property owners didn't want to see it destroyed, so they sold it to a couple who own a lot a few blocks away.
Many people watched as a crew maneuvered the home towards Mission Rd. where power and cable lines had to be moved out of the way.
The new owner says it's great getting a home that's ready to live in but getting the city's approval to move the structure was a challenge.
"It doesn't fit into the city's processes and that's unfortunate," says Ron Kupidy. "We were able to work with people from the city who could help us along, but there wasn't a defined process and there really should be."
It took about four hours to get the home to the new location and will take most of Thursday to set the home onto the foundation.
