Alberta nurses have a new contract with the province that will see salaries increased by 7.25 percent over the next four years.

AHS says the new collective agreement supports quality patient care and provides stability in health care.

“The ratification of a new collective agreement is a positive outcome for all parties – nurses, patients and their families, and all AHS employees, who are partners in the delivery of quality health care,” said Vickie Kaminski, President and CEO, Alberta Health Services.

The four-year agreement includes salary increases and lump sum payments and is retroactive back to April 1, 2013.
