Alberta has released the province’s top baby names for all the bundles of joy that came to the world in 2014.

Service Alberta says that 55,587 babies were born in the province in 2014, 27,147 girls and 28,440 boys.

In the results, Olivia is top choice for girls for the second year running, with 310 babies bearing the moniker, while Liam is top for boys, with 309 babies sharing that name and continuing a three year reign on the top.

Followed in the list for girls are Emma (262), Emily (231), Sophia (230), and Ava (189).

The rest of the top five for boys are Ethan (253), Benjamin (245), William (227), and Logan (225).

“Alberta is a vibrant and thriving province with a growing number of young families and an exceptionally bright future. Our government is working every day to ensure that all parents are able to share the benefits of a prosperous future with their children," said Deron Bilous, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Service Alberta.

There were also a lot of names inspired by popular culture in 2014, with many inspired by the hit HBO series Game of Thrones including Arya (41 girls - #106 overall), Khaleesi (4 girls), Tyrion (3 boys), Daenerys (2 girls), Sansa (1 girl), and Melisandre (1 girl).

Other popular names also appear to have been derived from books and other popular series, including Primm from Hunger Games, Sookie from True Blood, Aragorn from Lord of the Rings, and Cosette from Les Miserables.

Other new parents decided to break the mold with their babies, picking such names as Thunderboy, Goodness, Huckleberry, and Innocent for boys. For girls, parents chose creative ones such as Valkyrie, Meadow, Melon, Disney, and Bandit.
