RCMP in Calgary have arrested one man and seized over $300,000, which they believe to be the proceeds of organized crime.

The investigation, conducted by the Calgary Integrated Proceeds of Crime Unit (IPOC) resulted in four search warrants executed in Calgary and Airdrie on Feb. 13.

About 25 police officers took part in the search along with members of the CPS and RCMP Airdrie Detachment.

Police seized eight pounds of marihuana, several firearms, a vehicle, and several documents.

During the course of the year-long investigation, they also seized $294,000 USD and $5,000 CDN.

Harbhjan Dhariwal, 46, has been charged with possession of the proceeds of crime.

He is scheduled to appear in court on March 15.
