A $500,000 art installation on St. Patrick’s Island has become the adopted home of a local raptor.

The osprey has constructed a large nest atop ‘Bloom’, a 23 metre tall sculpture, located nears the bank of the Bow River and has been a park resident for months. The bird regularly glides over the river looking for fish.

Bloom was constructed using different styles of streetlights to create a structure resembling a massive flower.

Conservation officers have no plans to relocate the osprey.
