A little piece of Calgary opened on Gasoline Alley in Red Deer on Monday as Peters’ Drive-In welcomed travellers and residents to its newest restaurant.

The popular burger joint has been serving Calgarians for 50 years and opened the doors to its new restaurant on Leva Avenue on the west side of the QEII Highway at 10:00 a.m.

The original restaurant on 16th Avenue in Calgary was started by Gus Pieters in the 60s and not much has changed on its famous menu in that time.

Peters’ Calgary location sold 4,000 milkshakes in one day last summer and if the warm weather continues in Alberta, this summer should be another banner year for the drive-in you can’t drive by.
