A Calgary photographer is doing his part to ensure families impacted by the economic downturn can afford family photos this holiday season.

Ben Logan brought his gear to Olympic Plaza on Saturday and hosted photo shoots with a small suggested donation.

“There’s really no major gain that we’re trying to get,” explained Logan. “The biggest thing is that we just want to give back to the city.”

Logan originally hoped a few dozen people would take advantage of his offer but, through social media exposure, thousands were made aware of his plans.

During his shoots, the photographer collects cash donations for the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank.

“There is the $1 donation that somebody can choose to make, or not, and 100 per cent of those proceeds go directly to the Calgary Food Bank.”

Logan will return to Olympic Plaza on Sunday between noon and 6 p.m. and plans to continue offering his photo shoots next weekend.
