As the RCMP search for 45-year-old Vance Clifford Lewis enters its eleventh day, police have disclosed information connecting the disappearance of the Ashcroft, B.C. resident with a location in southern Alberta.

Lewis was last seen on the afternoon of Saturday, September 17 in Ashcroft.

On September 20, members of Lewis’ family reported his disappearance to RCMP. That same day, High River RCMP located Lewis’ grey 1999 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck with BC licence plate JW5984 near the hamlet of Mossleigh, Alberta. There was no sign of Lewis.

Mossleigh is situated approximately 50 kilometres southeast of Calgary.

Police have not confirmed if Lewis was the one who drove the truck from the B.C. interior to Alberta.

Lewis is described as:

  • A First Nations male
  • Approximately 168 cm (5’6”) tall
  • Weighing 64 kg (141 lb)
  • Having a brush cut (black hair)
  • Having a goatee
  • Brown eyes

Lewis is known to go by the names Vinny or V.C.

Anyone who encounters Vance Clifford Lewis is asked to call 911 immediately.
