The Calgary Parking Authority is going Green and has installed two electric vehicle charging stations at a downtown parkade.

The EV stations are located at the Civic Plaza Parkade at 322 9 Ave S.W.

One of the stations is for the city’s Green Fleet and the other is for public use.

The public plug is complimentary for those who have paid to park and is in the three-hour short stay area located on level P1.

"The CPA is continually looking at how to offer additional services to our customers," said General Manager Troy McLeod. "By providing EV charging stations, we're also supporting sustainable transportation options."

The authority has posted detailed instructions on how to use the charging stations next to the units.

Customers simply park in the EV stall, remove the charge connector from the holster and plug it into their vehicle's port.

The stations use Sun Country Highway CS-90 units that can half or fully charge a battery in three hours.
