Calgary Police have now arrested a fifth man in connection with the shooting death of a Toronto woman last weekend.

They say they arrested the man just after midnight in the 6500 block of Ranchview Drive N.W.

They have not identified him or laid any charges so far.

Meanwhile, officers have released three men they were holding for questioning but a fourth man, wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for attempted murder, remains in custody.

Natasha Farah, 26, was gunned down early Saturday morning in the Beltline.

Police say she was an innocent bystander in the shooting and had no connection to either of the suspects in custody.

The young woman had recently moved to the city from Toronto, and was pursuing a job in public relations.

Her family, from Toronto, flew in to bury her as quickly as possible, according to the customs of her Muslim religion.

Calgary’s Muslim community says they were quick to respond to help the family. “It’s absolutely devastating for everybody,” said Zuhair Osman of the Calgary Islamic Centre. “When you hear something violent – she happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It doesn’t matter where she’s from of what colour she is, she’s a member of the community.”

Farah is described as an amazing woman who always had a smile on her face.

Police have blocked off the scene in Ranchlands for their ongoing investigation.
