Calgary police have now declared a suspicious death at Canada Olympic Park earlier this week as a homicide.

They have also identified the victim as Mohameddek Ali Mohamud, 25, of Calgary.

Mohamud’s body was found Wednesday morning in the 8800 block of Canada Olympic Drive S.W.

A citizen in the area found the body at about 2:45 a.m., calling EMS for help.

Paramedics arrived and declared the man dead at the scene. Police were called to investigate.

An autopsy has been conducted on Mohamud’s body, but investigators are not releasing a cause of death at this time.

They are asking the public for help in the investigation, asking for anyone who may have seen the victim prior to his death to contact them at 403-266-1234.
