Residents in the northeast community of Bridgeland are still on edge after shots rang out in the neighbourhood on Thursday evening.

At about 6:30 p.m., police were called to McDougall Court N.E.

When officers arrived, residents told them they heard several gun shots.

One witness told police that they saw a man running away from the scene carrying a handgun.

The scene was taped off and several shell casings were found in the area.

No one was reported injured, but neighbours are still concerned about the situation.

“I didn't really know what to think. I was just too shaky I think. My son got on the phone right away to the police and even he was shaky,” said Marilyn Brown, who lives in the area.

Police are working to track down the suspect and the motive behind the shooting.
