A woman suffered serious head and facial injuries in a Saturday morning assault in the city’s southeast.
According to police, at approximately 7:00 a.m., a passerby found the woman in a green space across the street from Lord Beaverbrook High School on 90 Ave.S.E.
The woman, believed to be in her late 30's or early 40's, had been out for a morning walk in the neighbourhood at the time of the assault. The attack occurred sometime between 5:00 a.m. and when the woman was found.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the woman to hospital in non-life threatening condition.
A description of the woman’s attacker, or attackers, has not been released.
Police continue to investigate.
