A classic Corvette was stolen from a southeast property on the weekend and police are hoping someone may have information on the disappearance of the vintage Vette.

The 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was taken from its parking space in the 9600 block of Bonaventure Drive S.E. sometime between 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Police say the vintage automobile’s owner is 73 years old and that he has owned the car for more than 40 years.

The locked car was parked outside and covered by a tarp.

Police say the owner used a padlock to deter thieves but it was cut off and left behind.

The vehicle is described as:

  • 1962 Chevrolet Corvette
  • Red interior and exterior
  • Two-door
  • Blacktop convertible roof
  • It does not have licence plates

Police are asking the public to keep an eye out for the car and are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the area where the car was stolen to contact them at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously using any of the following methods:
