Calgary police are investigating after they have arrested a man involved in a standoff in the southwest on Friday morning.

Officers were called to a building in the 2100 block of Southland Drive just after 3 a.m. for reports of a domestic disturbance.

They spoke with a man in the home and, during the course of the conversation; he brandished a knife and held it to his throat.

After about an hour and a half, police deployed a Taser to incapacitate the man.

He is now in police custody.

There is no word yet on charges.
