Authorities are warning businesses owners and vehicle dealerships to be extra cautious after a number of thieves broke into a Calgary locksmith company and stole several pieces of equipment.
Sometime overnight on December 13, police say that a group of four men broke into a locksmith company and stole about $70,000 worth of tools and equipment.
The equipment stolen from the business can be used to cut and activate vehicle keys, including electronic chip keys and vending machine keys.
Officials say a device used to unlock combination safes was also stolen in the robbery.
The suspects are described as:
Suspect #1
- Caucasian
- Wearing a Nike sun visor, dark clothing, dark gloves, and a black bandana
Suspect #2
- Caucasian
- Wearing a dark hoodie, jeans, baseball cap, and dark gloves
Suspect #3
- Wearing a dark hoodie and a mask with a picture of a skull on it
There is no description of the fourth man.
Police say the suspects fled the scene in a stolen, white 2010 Nissan Xterra. The vehicle did not have a licence plate.
Businesses owners and dealerships are being asked to keep a close eye on their properties and report anything suspicious to police.
