Calgary Police have arrested four youth in connection with a series of car prowlings in Riverbend and are now looking for help in returning the property stolen in the crimes.

Police say that sometime between 1:40 a.m. and 2:40 a.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to reports of car prowlings in the Riverbend area.

Four 16-year-old boys were arrested in connection with the crimes through the assistance of HAWCS.

Officers found several items in their possession they believe were taken from vehicles in the area.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who may have been a victim of the prowlings to report their stolen property so it can be returned.

Victims can contact 403-266-1234 or email property@calgarypolice.ca.

Residents are also being reminded to be vigilant to prevent future car prowlings:

  • Report any suspicious activity, such as someone trying to open doors on parked vehicles
  • Secure your garage door opener as thieves can use them to get into homes
  • Avoid parking in unlit areas
  • Lock your doors and close all windows at all times, even while you are in your yard
  • Hide your valuables out of sight, or better yet, take them with you
  • Don’t keep extra keys in your vehicle
