Calgary police apprehended and arrested a suspect in a break and enter as he ran from a home in the city’s northeast on the weekend.

A resident called police to report that a man had broken into his home and garage at about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014.

Police responded to the home on Malvern Drive, N.E. and were able to apprehend a suspect as he fled the residence.

Suhail Abdullah, 34, of Calgary is charged with two counts of break and enter and one breach of conditions.

The CPS District 4 Break and Enter Unit is investigating a number of break-ins in the area and say 15 have happened in the Applewood area between January and March 2014.
