Calgary police are asking the public for help to identify a suspect wanted in connection to the sexual assault of a woman in a northeast alley on Monday.

Police were called to a convenience store in Coral Springs for reports of a woman in distress at about 8:00 a.m., on Monday. September 1, 2014.

Investigators say the woman showed up at the store and asked staff to call 911.

They believe she was sexually assaulted while walking home and say that a crime scene has not yet been found but they think the assault happened in the Falconridge area between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m.

The woman told police that she was walking in an alleyway when she was approached by two men.

She says one of the men struck her in the face and then sexually assaulted her.

The woman then ran from the scene and tried to flag down two separate motorists to help but neither vehicle stopped.

The victim walked on the grass on the west side of 68 Street south between McKnight Boulevard and Falshire Drive N.E. and was wearing only a sweatshirt at the time.

Police released a composite sketch of the first suspect who is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • in his 40s to 50s
  • 180 cm or  5'11" tall
  • 86 Kg or 190 pounds
  • Grey, very short brush-cut hair (not a flat top)
  • Blue eyes
  • Was wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket and white running shoes.

The second suspect is described as:

  • Aboriginal
  • Long hair in a braided pony tail
  • Was wearing black jeans and a black, half-zip hoodie
